Another day in paradise
Gorgeous hot weather today so after a late start (as ever) we headed off for a walk through the bush to Te Ana Waterfall. The trail starts about 30kms north of Napier and is about an hour round trip - with Te Ana Falls about half way along and then a steep and as it turned out, very muddy, climb up to an impressive lookout. Being the weekend after Christmas it was quite busy at the waterfall with kiwis and tourists alike taking a swim in the ice cold water. We were scared off by the quanity of small American children, but on a less busy day it would be a wicked place for cooling dip. The walk up to the lookout was pretty steep but the views at the top are worth it. Beautiful. There was a small incident with a big pool of mud and very slippy flip flops on the way back down, but luckily I was able to wash off in the stream at the bottom so AJ let me back in the car in the end.
